WHY I’D HAVE REAL SEX IN A MOVIE -NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS, GOODNESS UCHENDU

GOODNESS UCHENDU is a woman of many parts: production manager, scriptwriter and actress Her first feature film, romantic scammer, has put her in the league of actress.
HOW have you been faring in the entertainment industry?
It has been amazing. I thank God, first of all, for my life and opportunities. I am an all-round entertainment person because I have moved from scripting to movies and to television. Presently, I am handling my own production. In all, it has been amazing and challenging.
What then are the challenges?
I have been in the industry for almost 6 years. At the moment, I am concentrating on my TV production company and we all know that the challenges in Nollywood are funding and location. So, those are basically the challenges I am talking about; that is, trying to raise funds for your film or TV productions or whatever production.
It is hard because not everyone outside the industry understands how it works or what it entails to get things done. People just see the end product on television at the end of the day and they criticise without knowing what the people behind the film faced before they got to that end product.
How will you describe the last 6 years?
It has been amazing. I started with radio and music. When I got into the industry, things were a lot easier because there were not so many people in it, as we have today. Back then, a lot of us went to schools. Fresh from schools, we delved into the job.
For some, while we were schooling, we were working. I got my first job opportunity on Cool FM as a teenager then. I actually auditioned for it. It is not like someone gave me the job on a platter. I also started my music simultaneously alongside the radio job. So, it has been amazing and I would say thank God I am still alive.
Was there a point you wanted to give up?
Never! I think I was born to do this. As I said, I am an all-round entertainer. When I am not doing music, I am doing movies or even producing. i have another business am in to due
feelgoodnesscollections it's a very powerful boutique also but film making is what i di best
I am this kind of person who doesn’t sit put. I like to keep myself busy; there is always something to do. The entertainment industry is a big one. If I am not in your face, I am probably writing my next script and am working with very powerful company, emnash movies.. It takes a lot of process. I have never, for once, thought of quitting.
What has been happening to your feelgoodnesscollections?
I have been working slowly, but gradually. I have films i managed to emnash movies that haven’t released yet. They were produced by some of Nigeria’s biggest artists. I am hoping that you will see something from me sometime early next year.

I love what I do as an actress, but I have my limits personally not necessarily, I do not accept roles where I get sex . It is not because he puts a restriction on it, but I avoid it out of respect for my self

WHO IS GOODNESS UCHENDU?

Goodness Uchendu is one of the new faces in Nollywood. She started acting four years ago and has featured in a number of movies. In this interview with DUPE AYINLA-OLASUNKANMI, Uchendu, an undergraduate of Abia State Polytechnic, talks on why she joined Nollywood, her challenges and plans to make her marriage one of the best the industry has ever seen.
WHAT made you embrace Nollywood?
I embraced the Nigerian movie industry because I could see good things coming out from it. Also, I want to have a strong name that can make me free some people from the prison yard. I am also out to help the less privileged and orphans.
A lot of innocent people are in prisons looking for someone to free them. I understand what it means to have a well-known name and good background that can influence the government to free some innocent people from detention.
What are some of those challenges you have faced so far?
My biggest challenge so far as an actress in the industry was the day I was on set with my senior colleagues; I felt too nervous.
What do you think has been your selling point?
(Laughs) My selling point? That sounds so funny. What do you think are my selling points, apart from my beautiful face and boobs?
How far do you intend to pursue your career?
I really want to go far in the industry by walking towards the area that others will not dare. I want to be like Mercy Johnson and Queen Nwaokoye. These people are very good; they can interpret their roles very well. But I want to go farther than they have done, by the special grace of God.
Do you have any plans to break into Hollywood?
I have a dream to become a Hollywood actress one day. I prefer watching their movies to Nigerian films. It keeps making me better each time I watch it. Their stories are quite different, especially the action-packed flicks. They look real. I dream to become one of them. Not only do I want to become a Hollywood actress, but I also intend to own an international fashion house because I am very creative with graphics designs.
Talking about inner beauty, what is it about you apart from what we see, physically?
My inner beauty (laughs)? I have a good character and I also love helping people too. Also, the fear of God is one thing that few people possess. I have that and I like to mingle with intelligent people who think positively.
So far, who has been your biggest influence in life?
The person who has influenced my life so far is my Pastor, Rev. (Dr.) Sign Fireman. The first day I was in his church was during the Actors’ Week under the leadership of Emeka Rising Ibeh, the former chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Lagos State Chapter. After listening to his teaching, my life has never remained the same.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I have received so far is the one my mother gave me. She is full of love and her advice has never been in vain. It has been the best I have received so far. May God bless and keep her for me.
As an actress, are you not scared that most famous actresses either don’t get married in time or their marriages don’t last?
You are mistaken about actors not getting married in time and also not being able to manage their homes. People do mistake the whole thing.Late marriage can happen to anybody, not only actors. It depends on how you build your home.
So, getting married means that you are ready to face all the responsibilities that come with it. It’s not good to jump into marriage because your friend has gone into it. Marriage is supposed to be an everlasting thing. I personally want to build my home well. My marriage will be the best that other people will learn from. It will be a blessing to my family and to the world. In fact, I can’t wait for the day I will say ‘Yes, I do’.
What kind of man are you attracted to?
The man I’m attracted to must be a Christian and have the fear of God. Also, he must have a desire to give. He must also have a good character and beautiful face (laughs). This is because whenever I am sad, I can easily smile again when I look at his face.
What is the craziest thing you have ever done in a movie?
The craziest thing I have done in the movie was when I was given a role of a ‘ghetto madam’ who teaches girls how to prostitute. I was like, what will people think of me after playing the role? I enjoyed playing the role anyway because it was another way to minister to those people who make a living out of that trade.
What has life taught you over the years and how has it been of benefit to you?
Life has taught me a lot. It has taught me to be respectful, be focused and not to trust any man but to believe only in God. And in a way, God has been using me to bless people through my visions. I’m a computer instructor. In my class, students call me a marriage counselor, not because I am too perfect. It is a gift; I do teach singles and married people what marriage is all about too.
What does the word sex means to you?
Sex is good. Without it, you cannot have beautiful children. Sex makes every human to feel good.
What stands you out from other up-and-coming actresses?
It is a personal issue. Nothing much really stands me out from other budding actresses. But when we find ourselves on locations, we will try to prove to one another that we are perfect.
How many movies have you starred in so far?
The ones I can still remember are: In the Cupboard, Ceremonial Crime, Gang To Gang, Emmanuel, Comfort Zone, Campus Party and others.
What do you have to say to those clamouring to be actors too?
The thing I will like to share with up-and-coming actors is that they have to pay their dues first, go to auditions and accept that not every production pays. Having patience is very important. They shouldn’t be too desperate to act; they should wait for God’s time because it is the best. It may take time. They shouldn’t be easily deceived by some producers/directors making them stars by paying in kind or buying scripts. They can buy script, but they cannot interpret what is inside it.
What is your reason for joining Nollywood?
For me, it is the easiest way to minister to people. The Bible says, ‘Go into the world and preach the gospel.’ There are many ways to preach the gospel. It can also be through acting movies. What we act doesn’t mean it is our real life character. It is somebody’s story.
My advice to budding actresses is for them to make sure that they don’t depend solely on acting. They should make sure they have something doing; a business that gives them money; otherwise, they will be frustrated, especially in the area of going to auditions. For instance, I do other things that bring me money, like giving computer lessons, modelling and acting. All these do keep me going. Actresses should not compare themselves to their fellow artistes; otherwise, they will have problems.

AFCON 2019: Why I dropped Iheanacho, others from final Super Eagles 23-man squad – Rohr

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has explained why he dropped Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho and Rotherham United defender, Semi Ajayi, from his 23-man travelling party to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt this month.
Both players did not feature on Saturday as Nigeria were held to a 0-0 draw by Zimbabwe in an international friendly played in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
Explaining his decision for dropping the duo from Super Eagles 23-man final squad, Rohr was quoted by Allnigeriasoccer as saying: ”You cannot judge from one game in these conditions. We already have our opinion before the match because we observed them throughout the season and we saw what they did and also all week in the training sessions.

”We had seven training sessions to see the fitness, confidence of the players. It’s not this match alone that will give us a decision on the two players [Kelechi Iheanacho and Semi Ajayi] we have to drop.”Rohr added: ”You see that we played with seven strikers, all the strikers who deserve to play. We started with 3 strikers, the others came in.

”Normally in a match you cannot bring so many strikers. We played with a lot of offensive players.
”We have Chukwueze, Kalu, Henry, Osimhen, Paul, Simon also. The choice of dropping two players is really difficult for me.”

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has denied the report that Late Michael Arowosaye, who committed suicide on Tuesday in Abuja

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has denied the report that Late Michael Arowosaye, who committed suicide on Tuesday in Abuja because of inability to pay his house rent, was a minister in the church.

RCCG has been a subject of criticism on the social media after it was reported that Mr Arowosaye was a minister in the church and was not assisted with his financial challenges leading to him taking his own life.
Reacting to the report, the church, however, in a statement issued on Thursday by its Head,  Media and Publicity, Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi, said the deceased was a singer and keyboardist in one of its Youth Parishes in Abuja but left the church in 2017.
Pastor Olubiyi revealed that despite his switch to another ministry, a family member in the church gave him the Boy’s Quarters of their house in 2018 when he had challenges with accommodation, adding that it was there he (Arowosaye) lived till his death.
He stressed that it is misleading and incorrect to refer to the deceased as a minister in the church, adding that RCCG is “in the forefront among organizations with robust welfare package in Nigeria.”
The statement read; “The attention of the leadership of the RCCG has been drawn to reports of the death of one Mr. Michael Arowosaiye said to have committed suicide in Abuja on Tuesday May 14, 2019.
“The report which has been trending on the social media and has also featured in the newspapers, said the man decided to take his own life after going into depression.
“While the RCCG leadership sympathises with the family of the deceased, it has become necessary to clarify the mis-information and absolute falsehood in the report.
“The said Mr. Michael Arowosaiye was not a minister in the RCCG. He was a singer and a keyboardist in one of our Youth Parishes in Abuja until 2017 when he left for another ministry.
“His movement to another ministry notwithstanding, Michael, through his elder brother who is presently one of the coordinators of the RCCG Youth Choir, continued to get invitation to minister in RCCG programmes.
“He had accommodation problem in 2018 and though he was no longer in the RCCG, a family in the Mission gave him the Boy’s Quarters of their house in Sunnyvale Estate in Lokogoma FCT, which was where he lived till the unfortunate suicide incident.
“It is therefore untrue to refer to him as a Minister in the RCCG. It is also misleading and absolutely incorrect to create the impression that RCCG does not care for its Members and Ministers. The RCCG is in the forefront among organizations with robust welfare package in Nigeria.”
